Contact and Records Routes

This private reference site is not a government office. It cannot verify custody, arrange release, accept bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the public office that created or holds the record for those services.

Official Monongalia Contacts

Use the office that holds the part of the record you need. The sheriff's Daily Arrests document is a processing record, while NCRJ and WVDCR handle regional custody. No published sheriff booking-photo fee schedule or dedicated county form was located, so call before submitting a focused written request.

The sheriff materials reviewed did not publish records-unit hours. Ask the sheriff for the records custodian and ask NCRJ or WVDCR which custodian holds a historical admission record or a potentially releasable photograph.

Choose the Right Record Path

Official systems cover different stages. Start with the source that matches the question, then follow up with the custodian or court if the online information is incomplete.

  • For a recent processing entry or a focused records request, use the county records guide and the sheriff's Daily Arrests source.
  • For a live regional-custody status or an alert, use the WVDCR search path or VINE described on the home page.
  • For an active-warrant concern, use the sheriff and court verification path in Most Wanted Fugitives. Do not use an online tip form for an emergency.
  • For a later case result, use the West Virginia magistrate or circuit court record path. A booking charge is not a disposition.
  • For a state-prison record, begin with the WVDCR offender-search gateway. Federal and immigration custody have separate official locators.
  • For a city police report, contact the relevant municipal custodian. Morgantown, Westover, and Star City have different local procedures.
